“A man who has been held hostage for about two months at Kiambu District Hospital after his family was unable to settle his hospital bill was eventually released on Friday. Samuel Ndungu was diagnosed with meningitis about two months ago and his condition worsened, a situation that led to his admission to Kiambu District Hospital. His wife Catherine Njoki says that her jobless situation has caused all their misfortunes since the ailing husband is the breadwinner and she could not do anything to settle the overwhelming hospital bill. The man’s release was only secured after ODM nominated MP Isaack Mwaura intervened and settled all the impending medical bills.”
